write to UDP: Invalid argument (errno=22)

I have set up a tunnel between a T-1 and a DSL account. The tunnel has stopped working two times.
I turned up logging after the first time. The only strangeness I see is the above error. Normally
the logs say 'write to UDP returned 60' or similar. While the tunnel is not working, it 'appears'
to be up and running but no traffic can be sent across. What I mean by 'appears' is that the tun
device is up, the service is running, netstat reports that the service is listening on 5000,
and the route appears in the route table.

For the archives: This ended up being a problem with my firewall configuration on the DSL connection. I failed to set CLAMPMSS to 'yes' in the shorewall.conf file. Setting it to yes solved the problem.

James, Rob,

another UDP Message Too Large (MTU) error, perhaps? That fix sounds like the current workaround for a similar vtun error (but I think the errno is 59, and no time to confirm)
