[Openvpn-users] outlook problems on VPN'ed connection

Hello all,
I have a successfull OpenVPN connection setup between 2 windows machine but passing through a linux firewall:

| Win2k Office PC| ---------|Firewall| ------------- |WinXP Road warrior|
      outlook
          |
          |
          V
|Exchange server|

Everything basically work fine. I can ping, map drives, move documents around and generally work normally. The main issue I have is that if I decide to open outlook whilst a VPN connection is present on the office (win2k) machine, outlook will not find the local office exchange server on the network. If outlook is already open when the connection is established there is no problems. However if outlook is closed and reopened, it fails as it cannot find the server. When the VPN is removed, outlook returns to normal operation. I need outlook to behave normally regardless of a VPN connection.

This doesnt seem to be a direct issue with OVPN but it is certainly causing strange behaviour. It seems that outlook directs 'server-find' traffic down the OVPN connection and doesnt use the local network connection for server discovery. Its very strange behavior however I am hoping that other users may have come across this issue and know of a fix or work around.

Any ideas?

Cheers in advance.
Jamie
