[Openvpn-users] Cisco routers and OpenVPN

Has anyone had any trouble with Cisco routers and OpenVPN?

We have a Cisco 828 and it is currently mucking up ESMTP
because of the line: "ip inspect name iosfw smtp". It's
apparently using Context Based Access Control (CBAC).

I've had trouble with some OpenVPN clients being unable to
connect, despite being able to ping and having identical
OpenVPN configs to working machines, and I noticed another
line in the Cisco, "ip inspect name iosfw udp". Can anyone
confirm that that might be messing up the OpenVPN connection?
If anyone's interested, I'll post when I find out.

I noticed another odd thing: When I connected with OpenVPN
to my server at home, ESMTP was being affected in a similar
way to what happens through the Cisco 828, despite not going
through it. When I looked into it, it seems that the ISP
are running a cisco router too, but with what configuration
I don't know. As I understand it, OpenVPN shouldn't have any
effects like that by itself.

Best regards,
Patrick Lesslie
