The 2.0 series is currently in what I would call "late-alpha" stages, meaning
that the code still has some bugs and rough edges, though it's stable enough
that some people are actually using it in a close-to-production capacity.

In general I would use the latest version (test26 currently) and upgrade
quickly when new versions are released.

I will shortly be promoting 1.6b4 to 1.6 final (stable release), and then
releasing an "offical" 2.0-beta1.
