No. This has nothing to do with the 2.0 feature. The limitation is in the kernel, when using more than 100 different tun interfaces and not one single tun like in 2.0.


You simply cannot allocate more than 100 network devices of the same kind under Linux 2.4 (tunx, ethx or pppx for example).

FreeBSD defined max number of tunnel as 1000 by default.
