It should use the interface which provides a route to the other end of
the VPN.  Type "route print" to see the routing table.  For example,

Network Destination        Netmask          Gateway       Interface  Metric
                   0.0.0.0          0.0.0.0     192.168.0.1
192.168.0.99       30

If the other end of the VPN is somewhere out on the Internet, then the
interface with address 192.168.0.99 will be used to reach the gateway at
192.168.0.1 that will route you to the Internet.
