[Openvpn-users] OpenVPN and SQL server question

  • Subject: [Openvpn-users] OpenVPN and SQL server question

Hi All,

I am trying to set up a tunnel between to geographically
seperated locations.

I was going to use RealVNC to operate one of my non-SQL
databases: I can not imagine the effect of running a
shared database over a 256K connection (the limiting
factor being the upload speeds at each location).

Question: this database has an option to upgrade to
an SQL server. It seems that the traffic through the
tunnel from the SQL server would be greatly reduced,
allowing for dropping the VNC need. But, 256K is
still pretty slow. Has anyone had any experience
with this?

Many thanks,
