Seems to be asimilar problem to mine (Odd behaviour on tap0 in beta11 with
tcp-server)

Do you have a sniffer on both ends?
I usually use the open Ethereal, just configure it only to use the tap
device and take care what is transmitted.

In my environment, I ping my other machine, but the packets get corrupted on
the way to the other end.
