In some cases gigabit transfers daily between companies using Check Point, Cisco and other products. OpenVPN brings this connectivity down to the point smaller companies can participate. That said my experience is that most time you have to go down to the protocol level to troubleshoot, and in my experience by far the greatest number of packet drops are silent. Many issues do not surface until the traffic reaches a significant level I don't want this to go on forever. Everyone has different experiences and perspectives.
