[Openvpn-users] Those damned windows shares again

Sorry for the oft repeated question.

My friend and I have OpenVPN 2.0.5 installed and we can connect to each other and ping each other. VNC runs through the VPN without a problem.

Setup is:

XP Pro==>Zyxel 660HW======>Internet<======Zyxel 660H==>XP Pro

At both ends the Zyxels allocate IPs for the pcs, mine from 192.168.1.127/32, his from 192.168.1.33/32.

We both have static IPs assigned by our respective ISPs.

We're both using XP Pro SP2 and the following config and just connect as needed, (without one of us being a permanent server):

remote a.a.a.a # where a.a.a.a is remote IP
dev tap
dev-node OVPN01
ifconfig 10.3.0.x 255.255.255.0 # where x is 1 or 2
comp-lzo
secret key
ping 10
verb 3
mute 10

We can map network drives to shares at either end without a problem but it's a bit annoying having to know the share name beforehand.

Is there any way to be able to browse shares on each others pc without having to run a samba or WINS server, (and preferably without one of us being a permanent VPN server)?

Thanks,
Dave
