To elaborate on the other guy, you have to run ". vars" once per shell
(note: not "./vars") -- it's not a program, but a file full of settings
to be applied to the current shell (Which is what the "." command does)
I do wonder why the devs don't just put ". vars" into each of the other
scripts, so that the user wouldn't have to include it manually...
