I don't really have anything to add except I would be very excited  
about a trio openvpn module :-)

I imagine that it wouldn't be too bad to implement seeing as Palm has  
been nice enough to include a modular VPN subsystem (on at least Trio  
650+ devices). However, I've never looked into this issue any farther.
