  • Subject: [Openvpn-users] MTU error on windows
  • From: info@xxxxxxxxx
  • Date: Wed, 07 Mar 2007 09:26:52 +0100

Hi,

I get the following message on a windows pc behind a caching server:
Wed Mar 07 09:46:46 2007 us=665981 WARNING: Bad encapsulated packet length from
peer (18516), which must be > 0 and <= 1576 -- please ensure that --tun-mtu or
--link-mtu is equal on both peers -- this condition could also indicate a
possible active attack on the TCP link -- [Attemping restart...]
Wed Mar 07 09:46:46 2007 us=666040 Connection reset, restarting [0]
Wed Mar 07 09:46:46 2007 us=666186 TCP/UDP: Closing socket

My config:
Port is: 80 (remote port on NAT router which maps to 1194 on the server for
TCP
connection)

I do not have a http proxy between the client and the internet

Any help appreciated.
