Yes! It was exactly as you said!
Thanx a lot! I had to chmod +x the various subfolders up to ccd, then chown nobody:nobody the ccd files. Now I see from the log that the server is using the ccd files ;)

Did you take care about the ownership and/or access-rights of the ccd
files? The must be readable by the userid which openvpn uses to run.
